Oulai: ‘Fiorentina perfect for me, helps young players to grow’
Oulai: ‘Fiorentina perfect for me, helps young players to grow’ Christ Inao Oulai insists Fiorentina is ‘perfect for me, as the club improves young players’ and he ‘jumped at the chance’ to join from Trabzonspor. The Ivory Coast international was in action at the 2026 World Cup this summer in the USA, Canada and Mexico, then completed the €26m plus bonus transfer to Serie A. He held his presentation press conference today in their training camp in Tuscany. Oulai had no hesitation for Fiorentina Christ Oulai and Fiorentina director Alessandro Ferrari (@acffiorentina) “The Fiorentina project is perfect for me as the club improves young players. I jumped at the chance to join this club,” said the 20-year-old. “I’ve come here to learn and become a better player. My life has changed a lot in the last 12 months. I’m proud of myself and I’m really happy to have joined Fiorentina.” It is a completely revamped squad under new coach Fabio Grosso, and Oulai is by no means the only big investment, as Arthur Atta also arrived from Udinese. Arthur Atta arrives for his Fiorentina medical tests (@acffiorentina) “We’re all very young and we’re happy to work together. I’ll always give my all to help the team and will try to put into practice everything the coach asks me to do every day. “I’ve been particularly impressed by Atta. He’s so talented and skilful.” When it comes to inspiration from the past, Oulai has no qualms about looking to the history of the Ivory Coast. “I watch lots of great players, but Yaya Toure has always been an idol of mine.” TORONTO, ONTARIO – JUNE 19: Christ Inao Oulai of Cote D’Ivoire speaks to the media during the training and press conference of Cote D’Ivoire one day ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Group E match between Germany and Cote D’Ivoire at Toronto Stadium on June 19, 2026 in Toronto, Ontario. He also spoke directly to Sky Sport Italia as part of the media duties, and had more to say about this move. “I said yes to Fiorentina because it’s an historic club, everyone around the world knows this team. It is an ambitious club that was interested in me, they called me to put me in the best conditions, even when I hadn’t joined them yet. “We’ve been working together now for two to three weeks, we will play every game as if it was a Final to achieve something important at the end of the season.”
