There were significant financial differences between player and club going into Wednesday’s meeting, and there had been repeated suggestions in the Spanish media that Real Madrid were refusing to up their offer to the player. Yet the club have now made a last-minute u-turn, raising their offer. This has pleased the player’s camp, with Rodra reporting for ESPN that they now feel optimistic about a renewal.
