Real Madrid finally secure €140m Yan Diomande agreement with RB Leipzig
Real Madrid finally secure €140m Yan Diomande agreement with RB Leipzig After weeks of negotiations, Real Madrid have finally taken the defining step towards signing RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande. A deal had stalled, but after being unblocked in the last 48 hours , the two clubs have moved quickly to secure an agreement. The news of Real Madrid’s agreement with RB Leipzig was confirmed by Sky Sport Germany’s Florian Plettenburg . Diomande, who had already agreed a five-year contract with Los Blancos officials, has been waiting patiently for a deal to be done, and now that it has been, he’s about to become one of the most expensive signings in history. Real Madrid will pay a fixed amount of €125m for Diomande, although the figure they end up paying RB Leipzig could reach €140m. €10m of “easy” add-ons have been agreed, while a further €5m in more difficult variables have also been included in the agreement between the two clubs. Pressure will be on Diomande to hit the ground running €140m is a huge amount of money to spend on a player that only has one full season at the top level, but Real Madrid will see Diomande as being someone that can make a telling contribution for many years to come. At 19, he has his whole career ahead of him, and the belief is that he could go on to become one of the world’s best players. Diomande already has experience of Spanish football with Leganes, but playing for Real Madrid will be a different kettle of fish. He will need time to adapt to life at the Bernabeu, but whether he’s afforded it due to his price tag remains to be seen. Real Madrid will hope to confirm the signing of Diomande by the end of the week, at which point they will turn their attention to their next deal. Rodri is wanted, although a deal for the Manchester City midfielder is looking unlikely at this stage.
