Al-Ahli aim to bring in former France manager Didier Deschamps, but… Although he has now turned a new page in his career as manager of the French national team, Didier Deschamps has no intention of calling it a day. Quite the opposite, in fact. At 57, the two-time World Cup winner hopes to continue his footballing journey, “in one form or another” , as he recently explained. However, it now seems unlikely that the former Olympique de Marseille manager will join the Saudi club. This context works against a swift arrival for the former Les Bleus manager. Appointed as head coach of the French national team in July 2012, Deschamps oversaw 187 matches – including 122 victories – and led the side to the World Cup title in 2018, before falling at the final hurdle four years later.
