At times in the last month or so, Bradley Barcola’s mooted move to Liverpool from PSG has seemed very possible. The winger wants to go and be first choice, the English club are looking to buy a top class attacker, and PSG know they need to sell before the France international reaches the final stages of his contract. Last week, there were reports that the two sides are in serious talks about a move. But the latest report from L’Equipe doesn’t make it sound like there’s much hope as it stands. They point out that PSG are giving the Reds “no quarter” in negotiations, and are holding out for the €150m they have wanted all along. For their part, Liverpool have “no intention of meeting PSG’s demands.” Sounds like a stalemate. Liverpool and PSG miles apart in valuations of winger The fact that both are holding firm doesn’t mean that a deal is impossible – the fact remains that a move this summer suits all three parties. But it’s looking a lot less likely than it was not long ago. Barcola may be forced to kick up a stink, or perhaps everyone will agree to just leave it be and return in a year when his price will have come down dramatically. In other news… Maghnes Akliouche is already in Paris and working on completing his move to PSG, Fabrizio Romano has reported today. Malo Gusto continues to be linked with a PSG move, but the massive asking price Chelsea have in mind is making a deal look impossible right now.
