Exeter re-sign midfielder Kite from Truro

The 26-year-old still had a year left on his deal at Truro City, but has moved back to St James Park on one-year contract with an option for a further 12 months. The deal for Kite sees him link up with Exeter boss Matt Taylor, under whom he won promotion to League One in 2022. "He adds a different dynamic to our midfield and a little bit of a different dynamic to the team as well," Exeter manager Matt Taylor told BBC Radio Devon. "He's got an explosion, a power aspect of physicality which is different to the rest of the group, and we know the pressure on our spine of the team in terms of their previous injuries, and maybe what's to come this season. "We've got to keep him fit because he's struggled himself with injuries over the last couple of seasons, and then move towards what his best version is." Kite came up through Exeter's youth ranks, with Taylor giving him his league debut in October 2020. He went to play 102 times for the Grecians in all competitions. A serious hamstring injury towards the end of his time at Exeter, in 2024, saw him miss almost a year of football - he returned for Yeovil Town in March 2025 after joining on a short-term deal, before making the move to Truro last summer. But he struggled to make an impact last season, making just 14 league appearances, and had a spell on loan at National League South side Weston-Super-Mare. Listen to Exeter City content on BBC Sounds
