Borussia Dortmund to rival Liverpool in the race to sign PSG winger Ibrahim Mbaye
Borussia Dortmund to rival Liverpool in the race to sign PSG winger Ibrahim Mbaye Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool currently have the upper hand in the race to sign Senegal international winger Ibrahim Mbaye (18) from PSG, according to a report from L’Equipe . The 18-year-old, who scored against France in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, could be the next player to part ways with the back-to-back UEFA Champions League winners. The latter have already generated €156m worth of player sales after sanctioning permanent deals for Gonçalo Ramos, Lee Kang-in and Randal Kolo Muani. As for Mbaye, the winger would have liked to play more next season, but Luis Enrique and PSG Sporting Director Luis Campos have assured him, and his entourage, that he should not expect to play a prominent role with his formative club. PSG’s search for attacking reinforcements – such as Maghnes Akliouche and Ajax’s Mika Godts – have convinced Mbaye that the next stage of his career could be abroad. L’Equipe adds that most major clubs from both the Bundesliga and the Premier League have made their interest known. RB Leipzig would have liked to have Mbaye included in any deal for PSG regarding Yan Diomandé. Bayer Leverkusen have submitted an offer, that was turned down by Les Parisiens. The outlet reports that Mbaye’s representatives – such as super agent Jorge Mendes – are waiting for PSG to name their price. Mbaye is yet to choose for which club he’ll play next season, but two European powerhouses currently stand out: Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool. The two sides have already presented their arguments to the winger. GFFN | Bastien Cheval
