Fabrizio Romano update gives Liverpool the green light to sign 13-goal wonderkid
Fabrizio Romano update gives Liverpool the green light to sign 13-goal wonderkid There's now less than a month left of the summer transfer window. Liverpool have only added two new players to their ranks and, if that's how things stay, they'll be in a whole world of trouble. Most of the Reds' fanbase were expecting them to completely change their team and potentially have an entirely new-look squad for Andoni Iraola but, if anything, they've managed to become even worse than they were at the end of last term. Arne Slot was sacked due to the poor performances that his team were putting in and, if the same happens with Iraola, it's unclear what the future will hold for the Spaniard. However, if they can make some new additions and bolster their ranks, their season could be completely turned on its head. And, since Liverpool want to start competing for silverware again, the fact that one of their long-term targets could now be on the market is great news. FC Koln have signed Tottenham's Mikey Moore on loan Liverpool's main problem area at the moment is their attack. Bradley Barcola has found himself as the Reds' main target after their deal for Yan Diomande was trumped by Paris Saint-Germain and then Real Madrid. Other players have been mentioned as potential targets but, for one reason or another, talks haven't got past the enquiry stage yet. However, as per a fresh update from Fabrizio Romano, it feels like Said El Mala could now be om his way to L4 . "Exclusive story, confirmed: Mikey Moore, one step away from joining Köln," he shared via X. Said El Mala would be an excellent investment for Liverpool One of the main problems Liverpool faced last season was the lack of goals that their attack scored. And, with Hugo Ekitike out injured until who knows when, goals are going to be an even bigger problem for them this term. Mohamed Salah has also left which means that there is a gaping hole in the Reds' attack that will need filling. El Mala bagged 13 goals across all competitions last term and, while his natural position is on the left, of all the attackers Liverpool have been linked with, the young German has played on the right-wing a decent number of times. He's only 19 years old and has already emerged as one of Koln's best players. But, now that Mikey Moore has joined the Bundesliga outfit, they have a ready-made replacement for him among their ranks as both players can play in the same positions. Obviously, Liverpool would have to spend a decent chunk of money to get a deal over the line but, with the potential he has and how good he already is, it feels like he'd be a solid addition to Liverpool's ranks. Unfortunately, he'd be too old to eventually be classed as home grown but, with how much Liverpool are preparing for the future, signing El Mala makes total sense.
