Official | Nantes sign Strasbourg centre-back Saïdou Sow on loan FC Nantes have signed RC Strasbourg centre-back Saïdou Sow (24) on loan with an option to buy, both sides have announced . Sow is making a return to  Les Canaris  after spending the second half of the 2024-2025 Ligue 1 season on loan to Nantes. This time, the 8-time French champions will play in Ligue 2 after finishing second-to-last last season. Sow joined Strasbourg from Saint-Etienne three years ago, but he only featured 25 times for the Alsatians. Last season, the Guinean international defender was allowed to leave on loan at Ligue 2 side Clermont. Sow’s experience in the second-tier will be of value for Nantes’ hopes of a swift comeback in Ligue 1. Les Canaris  were in the market for an experienced centre-back after parting ways with Chidozie Awaziem. Nantes get their Ligue 2 season underway this Saturday at home against Red Star FC.
