Manchester United make decision on the future of Jim Thwaites Manchester United have decided to keep Jim Thwaites at the club, per The Sun .  The 18-year-old made his senior debut in United’s 2-1 win over Atletico Madrid last weekend. He replaced Andrey Santos in the 81st minute and completed 86 percent of his passes.  Manager Michael Carrick has been an admirer of Thwaites for some time now. The English boss included him in the senior squad for the first time at Chelsea in April.  United have already signed Santos and Youri Tielemans, and are looking to add another midfielder.  Thwaites is unlikely to get many first-team opportunities in 2026-27, but the club have no plans to send him on loan.  He will play for the Under21s and receive first-team exposure by training with the senior players when selected.  The Red Devils have sanctioned the sale of academy star Radek Vitek to Middlesbrough.  The 22-year-old will move to the Championship club in a deal worth up to £14 million .  United have also inserted a 35 percent sell on clause as well as a buy-back option into the deal with Boro.  The Premier League giants are also open to offers for youngsters Harry Amass, Dan Gore and Toby Collyer.  The trio had loan spells away from United last season and they are likely to embark on a similar move this summer.  Stats from Sofascore
