Leyton Orient sign Kabia in club-record deal

Leyton Orient have signed Jaze Kabia from Grimsby Town on a three-year deal for an undisclosed club-record transfer fee. The 26-year-old scored 24 goals in 57 appearances in all competitions for League Two Grimsby in 2025-2026, helping them reach the play-offs. He scored nine times in their final 10 matches as they finished seventh. Previously, Kabia netted 16 goals in 40 league appearances for Truro City as they were crowned National League South champions in 2024/2025. He becomes Orient's ninth summer signing, and takes the number nine shirt following Dom Ballard's sale to Bristol City for an undisclosed fee. Kabia told the club website: "I have a habit for being in the right place at the right time and I feel like finishing is the strongest part of my game. I'm really excited and am itching to get started here. "It's a statement having the number nine on your back, it carries weight, and I like that kind of pressure. It gives me that extra motivation and I want to continue this club's streak of having good goalscorers." Orient head coach Richie Wellens added: "Jaze will bring us pace, power, desire, commitment, work rate and a big goal threat. "He scored a hell of a lot of goals for Truro to earn his move into the league and then did the same at Grimsby." All the latest Leyton Orient news
