Whilst the details of the proposal – including the amounts of the fixed and variable components, the various bonuses and the percentage of any future transfer fee – are not yet known, this acceleration in negotiations marks the Reds’ entry into a more concrete phase of their strategy to sign the French winger. However, the chances of PSG accepting this offer are slim, as the Rouge et Bleu management are reportedly demanding a sum in excess of €150m, excluding bonuses, to agree to let Barcola leave. In any case, this opening bid from Liverpool sends a strong signal, both to the Parisians and to the player, who has, for his part, made a move to Anfield his priority.
