Sevilla emerge as takers for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Ellyes Skhiri
Sevilla emerge as takers for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Ellyes Skhiri Sky Switzerland reports that Sevilla may be interested in picking up Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Ellyes Skhiri. Skhiri has been moved out of Frankfurt’s senior squad and is currently training with the club’s second group after being informed that he no longer features prominently in their plans. No agreement has yet been reached over the structure of a potential deal. Sevilla and Frankfurt are still discussing whether Skhiri could move on loan, permanently or via another arrangement. The Andalusian club are looking to add experience and defensive stability to their midfield and believe Skhiri possesses the leadership qualities and ball-winning ability required to make an immediate contribution. Skhiri joined Frankfurt from 1. FC Köln on a free transfer in the summer of 2023 after establishing himself as one of the Bundesliga’s most reliable central midfielders. The recent arrivals of Raphael Onyedika and Noël Aséko effectively ensured that the 31-year-old has no more prospects with the RheinMainAdler. Köln also have no interest in picking back up their former player. GGFN | Peter Weis
