Marseille tracking Egypt international Haissem Hassan after World Cup breakthrough
Marseille tracking Egypt international Haissem Hassan after World Cup breakthrough Olympique de Marseille are keeping tabs on Real Oviedo winger Haissem Hassan (23) following his impressive performances for Egypt at the 2026 World Cup, according to L’Équipe . The Marseille-born attacker emerged as one of Egypt’s revelations during the tournament and his displays have attracted interest ahead of the end of the summer transfer window. L’Équipe reports that OM are among the clubs monitoring Hassan as they assess potential attacking reinforcements. The winger is currently under contract with Real Oviedo until 2027. Marseille have yet to make their first signing of the summer. The club’s new hierarchy have instead focused on generating income through departures, with Gerónimo Rulli and Facundo Medina among those closing in on moves away from the Vélodrome. However, head coach Bruno Génésio admitted on Friday that he is eager to see reinforcements arrive once Marseille have created sufficient room to manoeuvre financially. Hassan could emerge as one option in a potentially changing attacking department. Igor Paixão has attracted interest from Leeds United, while Amine Gouiri is also the subject of interest from Serie A side Como. GFFN | George Boxall
