The situation is such that there is already a significant difference between the old Castilla squad and the new one, and that gap could widen considerably before the window closes. Elsewhere, Jacobo Ortega is a wanted man, with Strasbourg pushing hard and reportedly offering €8 million for 50 percent of his rights in a deal described internally as “hot”. Midfielder Cestero, meanwhile, has been linked with Lille as a potential replacement for a City-bound player. Notably, one player who will not be leaving is Thiago Pitarch. Despite an offer from Fulham, Mourinho has intervened to keep the youngster with the first team, representing another loss for Castilla.
