ÖFB-Frauen Bundesliga results: Graz remain top, RB Salzburg stay perfect and Südburgenland force draw In a compacted match-week there were only three ÖFB-Frauen Bundesliga fixtures. Last season’s champions FK Austria Wien and runners-up SKN St. Pölten both competed in the UEFA Women’s Champions League leading to two postponed league fixtures. SK Sturm Graz bolstered their first place position with another win, with a promising player partnership beginning to flourish. Salzburg continued their strong start to the season and Südburgenland offered the first surprise of the 2026/27 season. LASK vs SK Sturm Graz Sturm Graz made it six points from six as they comfortably saw off an internationally stacked LASK side 0-2. Sturm Graz are finding much joy in what is an emerging partnership between Brigitta Pulins the Graz loanee from Zürich and fellow new signing Lilla Sipos. Pulins opened the scoring with her fifth goal of the season in just the second game as Sipos crossed from the left in calm fashion. Their second came from a Sara Pavlovic corner that found it’s way through the crowded LASK defence and onto the head of Sipos who nodded in to make it 0-2. LASK will take away many lessons from the game they probably expected not to win. Their defensive display was promising despite conceding the two goals. LASK face another strong challenge next week as they travel to champions FK Austria Wien. View this post on Instagram FC Red Bull Salzburg vs FC Blau-Weiß Linz/Union Kleinmünchen It was a composed and confident performance from Dušan Pavlović’s young Red Bull side, which finished 2-0. The Salzburg team maintain their 100 percent win record for the season after a goal from Katja Wienerroither after some classy work from former FK Austria Wien star Lena Triendl to create the chance. Their second and final goal came to Salzburg after Jana Rauch cleared defensively for Linz off the line. Unfortunately for Linz, it landed at the feet of substitute Emelie Kobler, who netted calmly. Pavlović’s Salzburg side now sit in second place in the table with a fixture against first placed SK Sturm Graz up next week to see which team can keep their 100 percent win rate. Linz host First Vienna in a fixture that both teams will feel like they should be capable of winning. First Vienna FC 1894 vs SpG Südburgenland/TSV Hartberg Both teams have every right to feel they could’ve eked out a win from this 1-1 draw at the Hohe Warte Natural Arena. First Vienna captain Claudia Wassser got her team off to a strong start with a composed finish from 18-yards out. First Vienna now have two draws from two games. They will be needing to push on if they’re going to build on their sixth place finish in the 2025/26 season, where they only suffered four draws the entire campaign. For Südburgenland, there is something to celebrate. The result marks their first point on the board and a strong signal of intent that this team will not be happy with a last place finish again this season. It was Hannah Maurer who grabbed the equaliser for Südburgenland. It marks the midfielder’s fourth league goal for the club since 2024. Südburgenland now sit in seventh in the table whilst First Vienna rest in fifth. UWCL successes for the ÖFB-Frauen Bundesliga sides There was plenty to celebrate for Austrian teams in Europe this week. FK Austria Wien progressed to the next round of qualifying after a comprehensive 5-0 victory over Romanian team Farul Constanța. SKN St. Pölten were also successful, defeating favourites for the tie Sporting CP. If Pölten go on to qualify it will be the fifth season running they have competed at the top level of European football. The draw for the next qualifying stage of the UWCL will take place on Tuesday, 11th August. The winners of the nine ties will join the nine clubs directly qualified for the league phase. The nine defeated teams will transfer to the UEFA Women’s Europa Cup second qualifying round.
