Ajax’s Mika Godts confirms ‘talks’ with PSG over potential transfer Whilst Mika Godts (21) remains an Ajax player for the time being, one would be hard-pressed to say whether he will still be with the club by the close of the summer transfer window. Having made a remarkable start to the 2026-27 season, the Belgian has caught the eye of Paris Saint-Germain, who are reportedly prepared to drive up the price to secure his services. So, naturally, when he was expected to start Sunday’s Eredivisie match against PEC Zwolle but ultimately began the game on the bench, the embers of speculation quickly flared into a raging fire. His agent, Niels De Jonck, was quick to respond, telling De Telegraaf that “it was simply a case of overwork” and that they had not wanted to take any risks with the young winger. A version corroborated by the player himself, who came on at the hour mark and provided an assist (his third in four matches), and who, speaking to ESPN , said he had “felt a slight niggle yesterday in training” and was “still feeling a little too much discomfort” in his hamstrings. “ If I really didn’t want to play, I wouldn’t have played in the last two matches either. We need to put an end to this rumour. I love Ajax. I grew up here and I’m happy to still be able to play for Ajax,”  he added. Asked about a hypothetical move to PSG, Godts also confirmed that negotiations were underway with the reigning double European champions. “There are talks. I’m not going to say it isn’t true, because then nobody would take me seriously anymore,” he conceded. “But above all, we need to put an end to the idea that some people might have thought I didn’t want to play.
