However, after the match, Enzo Maresca did reveal that Marmoush could leave Manchester City before the transfer window closes. Omar Marmoush currently holds his future in his hands based on Enzo Maresca’s comments. Enzo Maresca had told the media that it is up to Omar Marmoush to decide if he remains at Manchester City for the 2026-27 season. Speaking after his team beat Atletico Madrid , Enzo Maresca revealed that Omar Marmoush has a decision to make on whether he remains at Manchester City or seeks more opportunities elsewhere this summer. Marmoush has been a primarily used as Erling Haaland’s backup during his time at Manchester City. Maresca acknowledged that being a back up striker may not be what Marmoush wants at this stage of his career. Speaking on Omar Marmoush and whether he could leave City this summer, Maresca said: “ The answer has to be similar to the one I answer about James Trafford. ” “ Players work every day, they want to play so when they don’t play they are not happy. Omar did not play a lot last year so his desire is probably to play more minutes. It doesn’t mean that he isn’t going to play more minutes here but it’s also his decision, and he needs to decide. “ Clubs are interested in signing Omar Marmoush this summer but Marmoush isn’t speaking like a player who wants to leave City. Omar Marmoush showed against Atletico Madrid that he is more than a capable backup for Erling Haaland. Once he got into the right positions in the Atletico Madrid penalty area, the Egyptian international was rewarded. Maresca’s system will produce goals from close range and it seems that Marmoush could profit when given the opportunity to play. The issue is that Erling Haaland stands in Omar Marmoush’s way. If Omar Marmoush doesn’t fancy being Haaland’s backup, a summer move may be on the cards. On that front, Mark Brus has reported via his exclusive Daily Briefing column that Newcastle United could be prepared to move for Marmoush to strengthen their attacking options. Furthermore, Brus reports that Newcastle United could be prepared to pay between €60-65 million to sign Marmoush. Brus adds that Tottenham and Barcelona have an interest in signing Marmoush. So there are suitors watching the Omar Marmoush situation. However, speaking after his brace helped Manchester City beat Atletico Madrid, Omar Marmoush didn’t sound like an unhappy player. The Egyptian international explained that he is happy with his personal life and that he enjoyed the service provided by Savinho and Antoine Semenyo. Listening to Marmoush speak, he isn’t giving the impression that he is unhappy at Manchester City.
