'I'm ready to give everything for Bournemouth' - Silva
[Getty Images] Summer signing Antonio Silva says he is a "modern centre-back" who will suit Bournemouth's football after he made his second pre-season appearance for the club against Real Betis on Saturday. The 22-year-old joined the Cherries at the start of August from his boyhood club Benfica in Portugal, and believes he is adjusting well to the change of scenery. "My adaptation has been very good and I'm very happy to be here," Silva told BBC Radio Solent. "I have players like Rayan who speak the same language as me so it's been quite easy for me to adapt to the club. Also the other guys are being very good [to me] and for me, they are very close friends. "Now I have one more week and then the Premier League starts and we will be ready for that." Despite Saturday's friendly game ending in an eventful 2-2 draw , Silva believes his style of play and winning mentality make him a good match for Bournemouth. "I think I'm a modern centre-back - I like to play with the ball, I like to defend as high as possible and I think I fit very well into this club. We want to play every game to win and that's my mentality," Silva said. "It was always difficult to leave Portugal and Benfica but it's a part of life and now I'm in a new chapter of my life, and I'm ready to give everything for Bournemouth."
