Barcelona nearing €50 million agreement with French giants for World Cup-winning star

Barcelona nearing €50 million agreement with French giants for World Cup-winning star Paris Saint-Germain are closing in on an agreement with Barcelona for the transfer of Ferran Torres, with the final value of the operation expected to be around €50 million. According to journalist Santi Aouna , negotiations between PSG and Barcelona have reached an advanced stage and the two clubs are now close to finding an agreement for the Spain international. The latest development represents a major shift from Barcelona’s initial position.  The Catalan club had previously set a €65 million asking price for Ferran, but that figure was always expected to leave room for negotiation. With the two sides now nearing a deal worth around €50 million, Ferran’s departure from Barcelona is becoming increasingly likely. Notably, Barcelona initially wanted a minimum of €65 million for Ferran Torres. However, the club understood that this figure was primarily a starting point and that PSG were unlikely to immediately meet such a demand. The Catalan club were prepared to negotiate, particularly because they knew that the French champions were serious about signing the player. That has now led to a significant reduction in the expected final fee. The operation is not yet officially completed, but the negotiations have clearly reached an advanced stage. Barcelona could benefit from Ferran Torres’ sale Barcelona’s decision to accept around €50 million would arguably make sense if the club can use the money and salary space effectively. Ferran has provided important contributions during his time at the club, but his departure would give Barcelona greater flexibility to focus on strengthening the attack and address other areas of the squad. It is also important that the club avoid losing him for significantly less than his market value.  On that note, a €50 million agreement would at least ensure that Barcelona receive a substantial fee rather than allowing the situation to drag on until the end of the window.
