Marseille and Newcastle nearing €15m deal to complete Pierre-Emile Højbjerg move Olympique de Marseille and Newcastle United are reportedly close to finalising a deal for the transfer of Pierre-Emile Højbjerg (31), according to Foot Mercato . Looking to bolster their midfield following Bruno Guimarães’ (29) departure for Arsenal, the Magpies hope to finalise the Dane’s move this week, in a deal valued at around €15m. The agreement would be a welcome boost for OM’s management, who are having to make do with limited resources and need to replenish their coffers in order to stabilise their finances. Having arrived on the Canebière two years ago, Højbjerg quickly established himself as a key figure in the Marseille squad. He made 32 appearances (all as a starter) in his first season, and in his second he racked up 43 appearances, starting 40 of them, whilst also featuring in eight Champions League matches.
