Transfer scuppered? Ajax’s Barcelona target leaves training injured and in tears Ajax’s transfer plans look to have taken a blow , as recent target Roony Bardghji was injured in Barcelona training. News has filtered through from Spain, where Catalan newspaper SPORT, among others, have reported that the winger could be out for months. Bardghji has reportedly been on Ajax’s shortlist for months, with interest becoming more concrete with Jordi Cruyff taking up the Technical Director position. He wanted to utilise strong contacts with his former club, but like the Swede’s other suitors, he’ll have to wait as a move now seems to be off the table. The 20-year-old Bardghji is said to have left Monday’s training session in tears after sustaining a serious knee injury – something he has suffered before in his young career. SPORT have reported that he will require surgery. Cruyff expects more incoming players regardless of this recent blow. It’s no secret that the Amsterdam club are searching for a right flank reinforcement to compete with Steven Berghuis.
