Maddison dismisses injury concerns

[Getty Images] Tottenham attacking midfielder James Maddison has allayed concerns of an injury setback, insisting he is "feeling good" ahead of the 2026-27 season. The England international is yet to feature in any of the club's pre-season matches, after missing most of the 2025-26 campaign with an anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained last August. He made his return against Leeds United on 11 May and also made substitute appearances against Chelsea and Everton in the run-in. Confirming his absence from Tottenham's pre-season tour in July, head coach Roberto de Zerbi said it was "not the right moment to take risks" with Maddison. But the 29-year-old has now posted on Instagram to say there have been no fresh injury concerns. "Feeling good after another good session today with the team," Maddison wrote. "Working so hard to be healthy and have a great year. "Definitely haven't had any recurrence of any injury I've had before."
