Leeds' Edgell ruled out for rest of season

Leeds Rhinos winger Alfie Edgell has been ruled out for the rest of the Super League season with a quad injury he sustained against Wakefield Trinity last weekend. The 22-year-old, who missed the first five months of the campaign with a thigh issue, was hurt in the act of scoring a disallowed try but played on for the final half hour. "He couldn't stride out but he knew he needed to stay out there for us the other night," Leeds head coach Brad Arthur told BBC Radio Leeds. "He was able to play that remaining 30 minutes of the second half but unfortunately for him the season is done. "He's a tough kid, he has been there before, he'll rehab it and will go again. "His luck will change at some stage, if he makes it change in terms of just staying strong. It can't happen to him forever. He is only young, he has plenty of time. "The club has invested their time in him. It's not like he's playing for a contract. He can just be patient, rehab it, and do all the right things and get another chance next year." There is more positive news of veteran wing Ryan Hall, who will return in the home game against Leigh Leopards on Thursday after a month out with a foot injury.
