PSG manager aims to emulate Real Madrid UCL three-peat: ‘We have a huge incentive to accomplish it’ Real Madrid are almost synonymous with UEFA Champions League glory, for they have historically dominated the competition like none other. Of all of their achievements, however, their record of winning the competition back to back in 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18 is something almost unthinkable. After all, it is a competition that elite clubs dream of conquering once and Los Blancos dominated to go three in a row. Seldom has a situation arisen where that record was at risk of being equalled, but PSG have a unique chance to do so this season. They have already won the competition in two back-to-back seasons, and a title this season will see them equal the stunning three-peat. With a new manager in Jose Mourinho at the helm, there are barely any excuses for the club to underperform. Real Madrid have gone trophy-less for two straight seasons at this point, and it is clear that the objective this season will be to go all the way in all competitions. The Champions League, however, will again hold a special place and they do indeed have a squad good enough to make a charge for the title.
