It would not be entirely new for Rabiot, who held a similar position under Roberto De Zerbi when he was playing for Olympique Marseille. The 31-year-old was also pretty prolific at Milan last season, contributing six goals and five assists in 32 appearances. If Rabiot took that position, it would free up a midfield slot alongside Luka Modric, which would likely be handed to Ardon Jashari. It leaves no room for Rafael Leao, but he is expected to leave this summer regardless. This also remains hypothetical, because Rabiot is yet to even meet Amorim, as he delayed his return from a post-World Cup vacation.
