Liverpool star set to secure deal away; will play one more match

Liverpool star set to secure deal away; will play one more match Liverpool are to send one star on his way very shortly. He's got one more match and then he's off. Incredibly, pre-season is nearly over. Liverpool have under two weeks until the big kick-off and that leaves them with little time to get everything in order. The reality is that they likely won’t get everything in order and we expect certain sagas to extend into next season and through to January. Hopefully, Bradley Barcola joining the club isn’t among those. But Curtis Jones’s future, for instance, doesn’t look like getting sorted anytime soon. We might have to wait on that one. Ifeanyi Ndukwe is one who will be sorted, though. The teenage centre-back has had a fantastic pre-season with Liverpool, filling in for the injured Joe Gomez, Giovanni Leoni and Jeremy Jacquet and the absent Virgil van Dijk. He’s been good enough that many wish he could be in the senior setup this season. Unfortunately, that’s not possible because of restrictions on foreign young players and Ndukwe hasn’t played enough senior football to guarantee him a work permit. A loan abroad will fix that - he essentially needs to play just five top-flight league games to qualify. Liverpool intend to get him those games and there’s half a chance that Ndukwe can return in January. Though, we do imagine that any half-decent loan would necessitate a season-long absence. And the Reds do intend to get him that loan. The Athletic report that Ndukwe will play Liverpool’s final pre-season match against Como before heading out on loan. There’s a tonne of interest in the Austrian, with ‘strong offers’ from Portugal, Germany and Denmark. Belgian, French and Spanish clubs ‘remain interested’ in the player. We’ll just have to see what Liverpool decide and it’ll come down to a mix of level and minutes - whatever helps develop Ndukwe the best.
