'Everything is going well' on contract extension - Jakirovic

[Getty Images] Hull City head coach Sergej Jakirovic says he and the club are "on the same page" in regards to him signing a prospective contract extension. Jakirovic - who unexpectedly guided the Tigers to promotion via the play-offs in his first season in charge - has one year left on his current deal but is confident he will stay beyond this due to his strong relationship with club owner, Turkish businessman Acun Ilicali. "Everything is going well," he told BBC Radio Humberside. "I am waiting for an email! "Everything is good and we are on the same page. I am waiting for the proposal so we will see. "What we speak [about], everything is good. I have one year on my contract still, the clubs wants to sign a new contract which is two-plus-one or three years, we will see. "Everything is fine with that. There are no issues about it." Ilicali is notorious for his outspoken nature and big personality, recently teasing Hull's transfer targets on social media , but Jakirovic says he does not feel pressure from above. "I never felt him [Ilicali ] putting any pressure on me," he added. "Nobody can put pressure on me other than myself. When I arrived here we spoke about relegation, stability, staying in the league. I thought we would be between 10th and 15th. "We had a slow start last season but he put no pressure on me. If we didn't reach the play-offs there was no question that I would continue this job because he is very happy and I am very happy also. "In the end, we did something incredible - like a movie. "Now, the first target is to stay in the league, but we know it is very difficult. I don't know how we will look in the Premier League and we will see the direction we will take.
