Bundesliga clubs stand firm as Hull and Ipswich chase Mert Kömür and Exequiel Palacios Two Bundesliga clubs have rejected significant approaches from newly-promoted Premier League sides, with FC Augsburg continuing to resist Hull City’s pursuit of Mert Kömür while Bayer Leverkusen have turned down a €20m Ipswich Town bid for Exequiel Palacios. Hull have now reportedly submitted four offers for Kömür. According to Sky Germany and the Augsburger Allgemeine Zeitung , the latest proposal would have guaranteed Augsburg €10m with another €2m available through bonuses. That remains insufficient for the Fuggerstädter. Meanwhile, Sport Bild reports that Ipswich have made a €20m offer for Palacios. Leverkusen have no intention of selling the Argentina international at that price and are reportedly only prepared to begin serious discussions at approximately €40m. Hull reach agreement with Mert Kömür Hull’s pursuit of Kömür has progressed considerably on the player side. Sky reports that the 21-year-old Germany U21 international has now agreed personal terms with the Premier League club. A transfer therefore depends upon Hull finding a package capable of convincing Augsburg. Get German Football News first covered Hull’s interest in Kömür late last month before reporting that the versatile attacker was open to testing himself in England . Hull then submitted offers worth €8m and €9m, both of which Augsburg rejected. GGFN reported at the time that Augsburg were seeking a guaranteed €13m to €14m , along with achievable bonuses and a substantial sell-on percentage. The latest €10m plus €2m proposal represents further movement from Hull, but Augsburg remain prepared to keep Kömür unless their demands are met. Their negotiating position remains strong. The Dachau native signed a contract through 2029 last summer and has no release clause. Augsburg also demonstrated their willingness to hold firm when Beşiktaş unsuccessfully pursued Kömür in January. The Turkish club eventually raised its offer to €12m without convincing FCA to sell. Kömür made 28 Bundesliga appearances last season, starting 18 and contributing two goals and five assists. Leverkusen demand substantially more for Palacios Leverkusen find themselves in an equally comfortable negotiating position with Palacios. The 27-year-old returned to team training on Tuesday following an extended World Cup holiday and is expected to travel for Leverkusen’s upcoming friendlies against Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United. His future nevertheless remains open. Palacios extended his Leverkusen contract through 2030 last autumn, although Sport Bild notes that he has subsequently changed representatives. His new agency could seek a transfer, but the midfielder himself has not informed Leverkusen of any desire to leave. Ipswich have still tested Bayer’s resolve with an official €20m offer. That figure falls well short of Leverkusen’s valuation. The Bundesliga club reportedly want approximately €40m before considering a sale, while Palacios is also said to prefer one of England’s established leading clubs should he leave Germany. Such a valuation would be consistent with Leverkusen’s previous stance. GGFN reported during the summer of 2025 that Saudi club Al-Ahli were interested in Palacios , at which point Leverkusen were reportedly demanding approximately €45m. Palacios has since remained an important member of the squad and has accumulated 185 competitive appearances during six-and-a-half years at the BayArena. His standing within the club was again evident recently.
