What Inter are betting on Jones would offer Chivu a different midfield profile: technically comfortable, physically strong and capable of operating in several roles. Inter believe those qualities could translate well to Serie A. If Inter can move Frattesi for around €25-30m and reinvest that fee in Jones, the plan is understandable. However, Jones’ lack of guaranteed starts at Liverpool means Inter would still be betting on Chivu helping him reach another level.
