And it would pay dividends when he combined with Les Bleus colleague Désiré Doué, who restored the one-goal lead for Les Parisiens with an ice-cold finish, adding to his first-half assist on Kvaratskhelia's opener. Despite Emery's Villa fighting to the last, Doué's strike would go down as the match-winner as PSG successfully retained their Super Cup crown (the 13th major honour since Enrique's arrival) ahead of another season filled with high expectations in the French capital.
