Liverpool believe Ibrahim Mbaye deal is ‘too expensive’

Liverpool believe Ibrahim Mbaye deal is ‘too expensive’ Liverpool consider a deal for Paris Saint-Germain forward Ibrahim Mbaye to be ‘too expensive’, according to transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano . Liverpool are pushing to sign Mbaye, with the club looking to sign a natural right winger to replace Mohamed Salah. The Reds have already held talks with his representatives over a potential move, but could be priced out of a move for the Senegal international. PSG reportedly want close to €200 million for Mbaye and Bradley Barcola combined, an amount the Reds consider too steep. The 18-year-old is the UEFA Champions League holders’ youngest debutant, but has found it difficult to nail a starting berth. He is expected to leave this summer to get more playing time. Bayer Leverkusen, FC Porto and RB Leipzig have also been linked with Mbaye, but the youngster prefers to join Liverpool. It remains to be seen whether PSG would reduce their valuation to allow the right-winger to join the Reds. Liverpool appear to be prioritising a move for Barcola, which could hinder Mbaye’s move to the Merseyside giants. Liverpool plan to use the France international as their left winger, with Rio Ngumoha moving to the right flank . Liverpool could struggle next season if they fail to sign a natural right winger. Federico Chiesa is their only senior option in the position, but the Italian has struggled with injuries since joining the club. The Reds should try to reach a compromise with PSG for Mbaye or look elsewhere for a right-wing specialist.
