Forest Green's Obi suffers season-ending knee injury

Forest Green Rovers' summer signing Emeka Obi is likely to miss the rest of the season after suffering an anterior cruciate knee ligament (ACL) injury. Defender Obi, 25, joined Rovers only last month from Kidderminster Harriers, but went down clutching his knee 37 minutes into his debut in their opening National League game against FC Halifax Town on Saturday. "Our worst fears have come to fruition, it's going to be six to nine months," Forest Green Rovers manager Robbie Savage told BBC Radio Gloucestershire. "All the lads have rallied round him. Hopefully an operation can be done as soon as possible."
