Woking attendance limit lifted after ground works

National League club Woking will be able to welcome bigger crowds again after a restriction on their attendances was removed. Capacity at the Cards' Laithwaite Community Stadium was reduced by half, from around 6,000 to 3,000, in April after concerns around health and safety issues . But work done over the summer, and tested at the club's opening National League game of the season against Sutton United, has allowed Surrey County Council to lift the restriction. "Safety will remain a key priority for the club, and we are committed to maintaining and continually improving the standards and procedures we have put in place," a Woking FC statement said . Work carried out at Woking's stadium include the installation of thorough CCTV coverage, the appointment of a security company with football-industry experience, improvements to the club's safety culture, retraining of stewards and various safety improvements around the stadium.
