Nicolas Jackson makes decision on Chelsea future as Aston Villa interest emerges

Nicolas Jackson makes decision on Chelsea future as Aston Villa interest emerges Nicolas Jackson wants to stay at Chelsea and fight for his place under new manager Xabi Alonso, per The Sun .  Jackson is aware of strong interest from Aston Villa and an unnamed club in Spain.  But he wants to continue his career in West London after enjoying working under Alonso during the Asian tour.  The Senegal international is confident he can play a role and help Chelsea qualify for Europe.  However, he may not have his wish granted. The Blues currently have five strikers on their books.  Joao Pedro is regarded as the club’s first-choice option, while they also have Liam Delap, Marc Guiu and Emanuel Emegha.  Chelsea are open to selling Jackson but want a £65 million transfer fee .  Villa boss Unai Emery is an admirer of the Senegalese footballer, whom he managed during his time at Villarreal.  The Midlands side are looking to find a replacement for Morgan Rogers, who joined Chelsea in a £117m move earlier this summer .  Villa have identified Jackson as a good option, but it remains to be seen whether they will meet the Londoners’ asking price.  The 25-year-old mainly operates as a striker but can also play on either flank.  The forward is not a clinical finisher, but he is highly rated for his pace, work-rate and link-up play. He has scored 30 goals in 81 appearances for Chelsea.  Stats from Transfermarkt
