Arsenal 25yo yet to agree personal terms despite £38.5m bid
Arsenal 25yo yet to agree personal terms despite £38.5m bid Gabriel Martinelli is yet to discuss personal terms with Galatasaray, who are still waiting on a response to their £38.5m bid for the Arsenal winger. Photo by Alex Pantling/Getty Images James Olley reports for ESPN that despite Galatasaray submitting an official bid to sign Gabriel Martinelli from Arsenal , it’s still currently unclear whether or not the player would be willing to join the Turkish club. Olley claims personal terms are yet to be discussed in any detail, so there’s no way of knowing whether the contract on offer would be acceptable to the Arsenal winger. As for Galatasaray’s €45m bid, Florian Plettenberg reports that the club are hoping to receive a response from Arsenal in the coming hours. Plettenberg broke the news of the offer in the first place, but there’s little clarity yet on what the Gunners think of it. Photo by Richard Pelham/Getty Images James McNicholas and Adam Leventhal confirmed the news of the bid for The Athletic on Wednesday, reporting that Arsenal have indeed received a €45m offer. The Athletic added that Martinelli is not pushing to leave, and that he’d expect to move to one of Europe’s strongest leagues if he did. The Turkish league has made some strong player additions this summer, but perhaps they still don’t fit into that bracket. Photo by Richard Pelham/Getty Images It’s worth bearing in mind that €45m is a very large bid for a Turkish club to make, with only one signing for more than that in the history of the division. If Arsenal turn it down, it’s perhaps unlikely that Galatasaray will go much higher, which could kill the deal’s chances at source. Photo by Mike Hewitt/Getty Images
