Arsenal reach agreement with Liverpool youngster
Arsenal reach agreement with Liverpool youngster Arsenal have reached an agreement with Liverpool youngster Vincent Joseph, with the two clubs in talks over a fee settlement for the 16-year-old. Photo via Joseph on Instagram Jordan Campbell and James McNicholas reports for The Athletic that Arsenal have an agreement in place with Vincent Joseph for the teenage striker to join the club this summer, and the Gunners are now in talks over a settlement with Liverpool . If the two clubs can’t agree, a settlement will be decided by a tribunal, given Joseph’s age. The forward is out of contract with Liverpool, but at 16, his club are still due compensation for his transfer. Photo via Joseph on Instagram Joseph made his breakthrough into u18 Premier League football last season, scoring three goals in his two appearances for Liverpool. But making the step up wasn’t enough to convince him to sign a new contract, and he now looks set to leave. The young striker has also scored eight goals in his nine games for the England u16s, with all of those appearances coming in the course of the 2025/26 campaign. Arsenal have been on the lookout for youth strikers in recent transfer windows, and they missed out on Will Wright to Liverpool just last year. But after agreeing terms with Crystal Palace’s Mylo Bernard and Liverpool’s Joseph, they may finally have found their academy additions. Photo via Bernard on Instagram Arsenal have also signed Elijah Upson from Tottenham Hotspur this summer, and they’re set to complete the signing of Axel Donczew from Cardiff City. Donczew is the only one of the four who wasn’t out of contract this summer, so there’s also a clear indication that the Gunners are looking to capitalise on failing negotiations at Premier League rival clubs. Now it’s just a case of getting Joseph, Bernard, and Donczew’s moves done and announced. Photo via GlenWilliams_Cardiff on Instagram
