The midfielder has a very long history with Serie A, first coming to Europe with Chievo in 2014, then Empoli and Roma. After the sale to Zenit St. Petersburg in 2017 and a spell with Paris Saint-Germain, he came back to Italy with Juventus in 2022, then was sold to Roma in 2023. He went full circle for a return to his first club Boca Juniors in the summer of 2025.
