‘I just told him…’ – Senior France defender reveals the advice he gave Mbappe about Real Madrid move Kylian Mbappe’s chapter at Real Madrid has come with enormous expectations, relentless scrutiny and constant headlines. Yet despite the pressure that naturally follows the French superstar, support continues to arrive from figures who know exactly what it means to wear the famous white shirt. One of those voices is former Real Madrid left-back Theo Hernandez. What was said? Speaking in an interview with AS , the France international opened up about his relationship with Mbappe and made it clear that his admiration for the Real Madrid forward extends beyond what fans see on the pitch. Discussing their bond, the left-back, currently playing for Al Hilal, said, “I have a good relationship with Kylian. We’re friends off the pitch. “And on it, we know the kind of player he is: an incredible footballer, a magnificent captain, and he knows we’ll always be there for him.” Theo Hernandez has backed Mbappe. Despite all that, however, Theo believes the forward has all the qualities required to handle that responsibility. Advice to Mbappe The former Real Madrid and AC Milan defender also revealed the advice he gave Mbappe after his move to the Santiago Bernabeu. Reflecting on those conversations, Theo explained, “No, I just told him that Real Madrid was the best club in the world.” He then revealed that he still follows Los Blancos closely despite now playing his football in Saudi Arabia. I always follow Real Madrid’s matches from Saudi Arabia, because my friend Brahim is there too.” Theo continued his defence of his international teammate by praising both his performances and character. “The truth is, I think Mbappe is doing really well. He’s a fantastic player, a captain, and a leader.” The former Real Madrid defender then delivered perhaps his strongest statement of support. “We’re always going to support Mbappe to the death,” he concluded.
