‘He can bring home the sixth title’ – Barcelona ace Raphinha backs Real Madrid forward to win the World Cup for Brazil After a season disrupted by injuries, Barcelona forward Raphinha is fully focused on the biggest challenge in international football as Brazil prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The 29-year-old may not have enjoyed a smooth campaign at club level, but whenever he was available, he remained one of Barcelona’s most influential attacking players.  Now, with the World Cup preparations underway, the winger has turned his attention towards helping Brazil chase a long-awaited sixth world title. Praise for Vinicius Jr. Speaking about Brazil’s ambitions, Raphinha expressed confidence in the quality available within the squad while also highlighting the players capable of making the difference on football’s biggest stage. Among them is Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr., whom Raphinha believes possesses the ability to decide major matches despite still being relatively young. Discussing his international teammate, the Barcelona attacker said, “Vini is young, but given his experience and achievements, he can decide a World Cup match and bring home the sixth title. Black/Getty Images) “I include myself in that group.” Raphinha also stressed the importance of leadership within the squad, explaining that experienced players must help guide the younger members of the team through a tournament where every mistake can be costly. “We’ve arrived very well prepared. We have to work hard on our defence. If we defend well, our chances of winning are very high.” The winger then underlined the challenges that come with a World Cup campaign. “This tournament is short and treacherous. There’s little time to get organised. Raphinha also spoke positively about national team manager Carlo Ancelotti, revealing the confidence the Italian coach continues to place in him. “Ancelotti is very happy with what I’ve been bringing to training and matches, but I know I can do much more and I’m still searching for my best form.” The Brazilian further explained the relationship he has built with the former Real Madrid manager. “Even though we were rivals (in Spain), we had a good relationship,” he concluded.
