West Ham’s Arsenal signing could be done for just £3m
West Ham’s Arsenal signing could be done for just £3m Arsenal are only set to earn around £3m if Reiss Nelson agrees to join West Ham United on a permanent basis this summer, according to a report. Photo by Alex Caparros/Getty Images Amid recent reports linking Reiss Nelson with a possible move to West Ham United , Sami Mokbel has reported for the BBC that Arsenal are indeed in talks over a sale. But Mokbel adds that if Nelson does leave on a permanent deal, the move is expected to net Arsenal around £3m. That would obviously only provide a minor boost to the club’s transfer budget, although the savings on wages would also help a bit. The same source added that there was still a way to go on the potential deal, but it seems Arsenal are closer to getting the deal structure they’d prefer. The Gunners have always been keen on a straight sale rather than a loan, but Dharmesh Sheth initially reported for Sky Sports News that West Ham preferred a loan move. Nelson spent last season on loan with Brentford , and they had an option to buy in his contract, but they opted not to take it up. Nelson has since joined up with Arsenal for pre-season, playing half an hour against Girona and 45 minutes against Real Betis , but having an unused substitute role against Borussia Dortmund , and being left out entirely against Como 1907 .
