Moroever, they have made a net profit on the initial investment they made for the star considering amortisation and even saved the €8 million they had to pay Manchester City had they renewed his contract. On both an economic and a sporting front, Barcelona are happy with the terms and the implications of the transfer. They can, after all, use the same profit to reinforce the team with players committed to the project instead.
