SWPL: Aberdeen sign West Ham duo Katie O’Hanlon and Selin Cemal on loan West Ham have loaned two players to Aberdeen ahead of the 2026/27 season, with Katie O’Hanlon and Selin Cemal both making the move to the Scottish club. The pair will spend the 2026/27 campaign with Aberdeen as they continue their development and look to gain valuable experience in senior football. Katie O’Hanlon and Selin Cemal join Aberdeen Goalkeeper O’Hanlon made the move to Aberdeen at the end of July. She has progressed through the women’s game at a number of leading English clubs before joining West Ham. She has also gained experience away from the Hammers through previous loan spells. O’Hanlon will be joined in the Scottish Women’s Premier League by Irons teammate Selin Cemal. The move provides both players with the opportunity to gain further first team experience and continue her progression outside of West Ham’s squad. A new opportunity for the pair While they play in different positions, both players will be looking to use the move as an opportunity to gain valuable minutes and continue their development. For West Ham, loan moves can provide younger players with important experience of senior football while allowing them to continue their progression away from the pressure of regular first team football at a Women’s Super League club. O’Hanlon and Cemal will now have the 2026/27 campaign to make their mark in Scotland before returning to West Ham. O’Hanlon will look to continue developing between the posts, while Cemal will aim to strengthen her experience in defence through regular competitive football. With both players remaining West Ham players during their loan spells, their progress in Scotland will be one to keep an eye on throughout the 2026/27 season.
