Liverpool given major boost in transfer chase for wonderkid Liverpool have been linked with a whole host of players this summer. Everyone knew that changes would be made at Anfield before the 2026-27 properly kicked off. And, while three new players have already been brought in, at least another three or four are needed if the Reds want to start competing for titles again. Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate have all exited Anfield for nothing and, while some have been replaced, Salah still hasn't. Of course, Victor Munoz, Federico Chiesa and Jeremie Frimpong can all play on the right-wing if needed but none of them really compare to the Egyptian King. So, it's been hardly surprising to several new attackers being linked with an Anfield switch. And now, luckily for Liverpool, they seem to have been handed a huge boost in their quest to replace Salah. Borussia Dortmund have set their eyes on another attacker instead of Ibrahim Mbaye With Paris Saint-Germain adding Ferran Torres, Maghnes Akliouche and Mika Godts to their ranks , it's clear that the sales of some players will need to be sanctioned. Obviously, players such as Kvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembele will be untouchable but, others such as Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye could end up on the chopping block . And, since Liverpool have shown an interest in both attackers, that seems to make complete sense. However, since they're two of the best wingers on the market at the moment, other clubs are obviously going to be interested too. Mbaye is probably the most likely player to join another club with Euro giants such as Borussia Dortmund also throwing their hat into the ring. But, thanks to an update from Sky Germany journalist Patrick Berger, it seems like the Bundesliga outfit have their eyes set on a completely different target. "Borussia Dortmund has set its sights on Giannis Konstantelias (23) after the El-Mala transfer fell through," he wrote. "David Blacha was on site in Anderlecht yesterday according to Sky reports, to watch the PAOK Saloniki attacking player in the Europa League qualifier. "But there's still another option besides Konstantelias." Liverpool signing Ibrahim Mbaye makes so much sense Liverpool's attack is their main problem area at the moment. Before Ronald Aruajo was signed by Liverpool, their defence was the area that was giving off major red flags but, now that they have the 27-year-old among their ranks, they can focus on upgrading other areas of their squad instead. At the moment, Barcola is their main target but, since they also need a natural right-winger, signing Mbaye from PSG also makes plenty of sense. The Senegal international is only 18 years old so, under the Premier League's current rules, he wouldn't need to be registered until he's 21. This is great news as, at the moment, the Anfield outfit have no more non-homegrown spots available in their team and, by the time they need to register him for their squad, he'll be classed as homegrown as he'll have trained with an English club for three years under the age of 21. At the moment, it's unclear exactly how much Barcola and Mbaye would cost Liverpool altogether but, if they can get both deals done, they'll be in a far better place than they currently find themselves.
