Report – Flick’s personal message to Rodri to convince him to join Barcelona

Report – Flick’s personal message to Rodri to convince him to join Barcelona Barcelona fans are getting closer and closer to the day they get to see Ballon d’Or winner Rodri unveiled wearing Blaugrana . The Catalans reached an agreement with Manchester City for a €76.5 million packa g e deal that would see Rodri move to Barça this summer. After around 10 days of prolonged club-to-club negotiations, the English club finally gave in and decided to let the 30-year-old leave for the Blaugrana . Rodri is undoubtedly Barça’s biggest signing since they signed Robert Lewandowski back in 2022, and the excitement could not be more palpable. Now, according to Alex Pintanel , Hansi Flick personally told Rodri that his experience and quality would make him an important part of his project. That pitch makes sense given the current make-up of the squad. Barcelona have built heavily around young players in recent seasons, with several key roles already occupied by footballers still in the early stages of their careers. Adding Rodri would give Barça a Ballon d’Or, World Cup and Euros winner in midfield. Experience matters in a young squad The sporting argument goes beyond simply signing an elite midfielder. Rodri has spent years competing at the highest level, winning major trophies and playing in demanding tactical systems. For a team with young talents such as Marc Bernal, Pedri, Gavi, Pau Cubarsi and Lamine Yamal, that experience could be extremely valuable. Rodri brings years of top-level experience. That could help explain why Barcelona have pushed so hard to complete the deal despite the significant financial commitment required. Exits have left Barça with a lack of experience Barcelona have sorted out exits for three dressing-room leaders this summer: Robert Lewandowski, Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Ronald Araujo. Thus, the arrival of Rodri helps fill those boots to a large extent. The Spain midfielder has captained both club and country. Rodri, at 30, may be a short-term bet by Barça, but one who can play at his best level for three or, at most, four more seasons. He is also coming to Barcelona on the back of two campaigns where an ACL injury and minor issues kept him out of important games. However, the World Cup showed that Rodri was well and truly back, and Barça will be banking on the fact that he can retain his fitness. Barcelona are edging closer to announcing the signing officially, and it remains to be seen how Flick plans to use him in his system.
