Update On The Future Of This Liverpool Wide Player: Good Move For Both Parties? In a recent report , journalist Graeme Bailey offered an update on the future of Liverpool wide player Rio Ngumoha. It is believed that the Reds have held talks with the English whizkid over a new contract and expect to reach an agreement with him soon. Ngumoha’s Impressive Rise In English Football Ngumoha managed to catch the eye at times for the Merseyside club in the previous campaign when he put in a few productive performances for them on the left flank. The 17-year-old scored two goals and grabbed one assist in 19 matches for Liverpool last season in multiple competitions. The English talent is currently one of the most talented wide players in the Premier League . Hence, it is no surprise that the Reds are planning to tie him down to a new, long-term contract. His current deal at the Merseyside club will expire in the summer of 2028, so it makes sense for Liverpool to offer him a fresh deal if they want to retain his services for the long run. (Photo by Naomi Baker/Getty Images) Liverpool Expect To Tie Ngumoha Down To A New Contract: Good Move For Both Parties? Ngumoha has the pace to cause a lot of problems for his marker out in the wide areas. He can shoot the ball with venom from long range and can make a few dangerous runs with the ball on the left flank. The English prospect can even orchestrate the odd chance for his teammates to find the back of the net. Ngumoha is primarily a left-winger but can also serve as a right-sided wide player or play as a centre-forward if needed. He has the potential to be a world-class winger someday. Hence, it will be a good move for Liverpool to sign Ngumoha to a new, long-term contract. Such a decision would allow the Reds to fend off interest from other clubs in the future and keep hold of their prized asset beyond the duration of his current deal. At 17, Ngumoha has a very promising future ahead of him and could benefit from sorting out his long-term future at the Premier League club as he would be able to focus solely on improving himself on the field. All in all, it seems like a good move for both the player and the Merseyside club to come to an agreement over a new contract.
