Arsenal still interested in 2 top attackers this summer

Arsenal still interested in 2 top attackers this summer Arsenal are waiting to see if long-term targets Kenan Yildiz or Julian Alvarez become available at the end of the summer transfer window, according to a report. Photo by Marco Luzzani/Getty Images Arsenal have been on the lookout for attacking additions all summer, and the club have already added Christos Tzolis to their squad. But other pursuits involving Morgan Rogers of Aston Villa (now Chelsea ) and Vinicius Junior of Real Madrid proved unsuccessful, and the reporting has always suggested the Gunners would keep pushing for a top forward signing. James McNicholas now reports for The Athletic that Arsenal are waiting to see if the market makes either Kenan Yildiz of Juventus or Julian Alvarez of Atletico Madrid available. The pair are described as long-term targets of the Gunners, but the potential selling clubs have caused problems so far. Photo by Fran Santiago/Getty Images Atletico have been adamant they don’t want to sell Alvarez, amid links between the player and Barcelona . There have been suggestions that Atletico would consider selling to Arsenal, but Atletico’s public stance is that they aren’t selling at all, and media reports indicate a strong preference from the player to join Barcelona if at all possible. As for Yildiz, Juventus general manager Damien Comolli has previously described the winger as “untouchable” and “at the centre of our project”. Comolli confirmed that Arsenal want the winger, but added that they wouldn’t sell “even if they offered €100m”. But it’s hard to see exactly what could happen to give the Gunners a way in at this stage. Atletico or Juventus would presumably need to make a big signing of their own, freeing them up to sell. With such a short amount of time left in the window, that’s becoming increasingly unlikely. Photo by Fran Santiago/Getty Images
