Barcelona rule out loan exit for 18-year-old new signing after Olympiacos enquiry Jesse Bisiwu’s emergence during FC Barcelona’s pre-season has not gone unnoticed. The young Belgian winger, who recently arrived from Club Brugge, has made a very strong impression in his first games under Hansi Flick. His standout performance came in the previous friendly match against FC Basel last Sunday, when he scored an outstanding brace in the 5-2 victory . His performances have attracted interest from several clubs, and one of them has now taken a concrete step. Olympiacos want Bisiwu According to Greek outlet Athletiko (h/t SPORT ), Olympiacos contacted Barcelona to request a season-long loan for Bisiwu. The Piraeus club is interested in bringing him in to strengthen their wide areas and are now waiting for Barcelona’s response. Bisiwu was signed from Club Brugge. (Photo courtesy: FC Barcelona official website) Bisiwu arrived in Barcelona only a few weeks ago from Club Brugge, in a deal worth around €8.5 million, with Deco betting personally on the teenage winger. Barça made a significant investment in the 18-year-old and tied him to the club until 2031. At the time, the club highlighted his power, speed, stride and dribbling ability as major assets. Bisiwu not going anywhere According to SPORT, Olympiacos’ interest in Bisiwu is genuine, but Barcelona currently have no intention of letting the player leave. The La Liga champions’ position is to closely monitor his development while he makes the most of the elite environment available to him. At Barça, Bisiwu is viewed as a future asset, a player with enormous room for improvement and the qualities to become an important member of the squad in the medium term. No plans to loan out Bisiwu. (Photo courtesy: FC Barcelona official website) The Blaugrana believe that training every day alongside some of the world’s best players can be a crucial tool in accelerating his development. The season is also long and the schedule will be demanding, meaning injuries, suspensions and other setbacks could create opportunities for him. As such, Flick is counting on Bisiwu and wants to continue assessing him on a daily basis. For now, therefore, Olympiacos’ approach doesn’t change Barça’s plans. The Greek club has knocked on the door to take Bisiwu on loan, but the Catalans prefer to see the young Belgian continue developing under Flick.
