According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Jones is keen on the Inter move, has informed Liverpool of his desire to leave and has recently started to follow a number of current Inter players on social media including centre-back Alessandro Bastoni. As things stand, however, Liverpool have not yet sanctioned the player’s departure. La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Inter are currently preparing to submit a €30m offer to sign Jones, who will be free to negotiate with whichever club he chooses in January and could walk away from Anfield on a free transfer next summer. If a deal does not come off before the close of the summer transfer window, Inter are expected to continue negotiating with Jones ahead of the next winter transfer session, when he will be into the final few months of his contract without a renewal. La Gazzetta dello Sport adds that Inter are not currently lining up any alternative options to Jones in central midfield as he is the specific player that head coach Cristian Chivu wants.
