Chelsea split into two training groups

[Getty Images] Chelsea have split their players into two training groups at Cobham, with one featuring players who could move before the transfer window closes, including Nicolas Jackson, Liam Delap and Mykhailo Mudryk. Blues sources stress that this is very different from the so-called "bomb squad" at Chelsea and other clubs last season, when players such as Raheem Sterling and Axel Disasi trained at different times, on different pitches and in separate buildings. Those players are now training adjacent to Xabi Alonso's main squad at Cobham and are joined by the likes of Danny Welbeck and Jordan Henderson in a mixed group. Jackson, Delap, Mudryk, Welbeck and Henderson are joined by players including Tosin Adarabioyo and Disasi. It was important that Chelsea made changes this summer with Fifa having brought in new rules that effectively outlaw the practice of alienating contracted players. Chelsea are seeking £65m for Jackson and £50m for Delap, while Disasi has an asking price of £25m. Mudryk is available on loan, and Tosin is attracting interest from Benfica, Marseille and a number of Premier League clubs. The Blues are trying to reduce the size of their squad, with 40 senior players on their books and 14 days remaining in the transfer window.
